Greetings fellow Vandal fanatics! Hopefully we can generate a more spirited involvement here at cbs, I plan to recruit some old Vandals from my days in Moscow, and I invite/challenge all the current members of the Vandal Football fanatics to gear up for an exciting 2011 season in Moscow! Hey all you Vandal fans.Posting after the 4th down stop in the 4th quarter. What a great effort by the Vandals after a slow start. Watching the game with my son and remembering a lot of great memories of being in the dome as a student watching Idaho take it to an opponent. My nephew is a freshman at Idaho and went to a tailgate and is painted for the game.If Idaho keeps rolling and wins this game it will be as impressive a win as I've seen in years. Well as any of us have seen.I-D-AHO Idaho, Idaho, GO GO GO. Still makes me smile to hear that chant, even 22 years after experiencing it. Fellow Vandals: I just subscribed to a sports package for a lousy $5 extra per month just so that I can see our team take on Colorado State this Saturday. How about that? Don't forget that thanks to ESPNU the game is at night - something like a 7:30 p.m. Mountain Time start if I have it right. I used to be a sportswriter and editor for The Argonaut while at Moscow. I loved my college and was as intense about being a Vandal then as I am today. Sure, it's been a rough few years, but let's also not forget that the main reason that we were there - and the current crop of students - is to get a good education. I got it, my wife got it and so many others did too. I thank the University, Sports Information Director Becky Paull (a classmate of mine and competitor for jobs), Coach Akey and his army of assistant coaches. I coached football for two years in Filer, Idaho, then tennis in SoCal for two more. I will always be a Vandal, and like most, think that a win over BSU beats any bowl appearance. This could be our year...and remember that only three more victories from now and they're going to go to a bowl. See some of you at the San Jose State and Reno games. Let's mind our "p's" and "q's" and not embarass ourselves. We do that enough at home! Scott Category: General Season almost hereScore: 128August 30, 2009 1:08 pm
So the season opener is just around the corner and not much activity on any of the Idaho boards. Guess we'll hope that they can give us something to be fanatical about. Nice to see that an Idaho player is getting some national attention. Hope he can anchor a line that will give the offense a chance to put some points up and keep the defense off the field a bit to give them a rest.I for one had great hopes when Akey took over at Idaho, and realize he was up against it when he had to clean out some of Ericksons players. This year we will see how Rob Akey's team is with mostly his recruits. Here's hoping for the big turn around and at least a return to respectability. Go Vandals!! Category: NCAAF Seasons done. Based on our current depth chart, this is how I think we might look for next season. I've included what year they'll be next year and how many years starting, although don't quote me on the latter. The probably starters are first, the probable back ups are after: Feel free to correct my mistakes. QB: Nate Enderle (JR, 2 year starter) / Justin Morales (RS FR) SS: Shilo Keo (RS SR team captain) / Jeromy Jones (SR) / Quinn Ashley (JR) Wow that's a LOT of Juniors starting next year.
